Growing up in Thunder Bay Ontario, I spent much of my time learning business management and bookkeeping from a very young age, having worked with my entrepreneurial parents, one being a professional bookkeeper. Through this I acquired the skills required in performing bookkeeping services for various types of industry. I soon realized numbers and business management came naturally to me.
After graduating from high school, my career began with a contract position in the accounting department of a large provincial paper mill, while simultaneously enrolling in a college accounting program. This was followed by four years as office manager / bookkeeper in a retail setting. After moving to Ottawa, I spent eight years as Office Manager for a large IT company. After transferring to the Niagara Region, I accepted a position as Office Manager of a health and wellness clinic where I spent the following nine years in patient service, office management and bookkeeping. Having moved back to the Ottawa Region to be close to family, I spent the next 8 years employed at a bookkeeping and business management firm.
It is through all this experience that I have continually expanded my knowledge with bookkeeping, customer service, sales, administration, and office management.
